Le Versant is an iconic range from Vignobles Foncalieu, available in nine different grape varieties that are sure to make you fall in love with the IGP Pays d’Oc appellation. Among the grape varieties used for this range are Malbec, Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir and a few other surprises. Le Versant mainly produces red wines, but also offers two spectacular cuvées: Versant Grenache rosé and Versant blanc de blancs sparkling wine. You’ll be surprised at every tasting by the finesse of these cuvées, true icons of our brand.
Le Versant Pinot noir :
This is probably the finest nugget in this range of red wines. From the sun-drenched terroirs of Languedoc, home of our 650 winemakers, Versant expresses all the delicacy of its grape variety: pinot noir, whose brilliant ruby color with hints of garnet will seduce you at first sight.
As usual, this grape variety offers a complex bouquet combining raspberry and cherry aromas with more subtle hints of licorice, violet and even, for the most acute noses, a hint of sweet spices.

On the palate, it’s the chef’s surprise: a supple, velvety attack with a lovely freshness that balances silky tannins. The elegant, minty, persistent finish is a brilliant conclusion.
It’s a wine that can be enjoyed on any occasion. If you like to enjoy red wine as an aperitif, this is the wine for you. It’s also great with roast poultry, filet mignon surrounded by baked vegetables, or, for those with a sweet tooth, with a large cheese platter.
This 100% Pinot Noir cuvée is quite simply the best illustration of the happiness of the Le Versant range.
Le Versant Grenache rosé
“If you taste the Versant Grenache Rosé, beware, you’ll be back!”
It could be a proverb from the Languedoc region or from the shores of the Mediterranean, but it isn’t. It’s simply an observation we’ve made over the last few years.
Sitting on a terrace with friends or family, a ray of sunshine in the reflection of your sunglasses after a hard week’s work or in the middle of a vacation, Versant Grenache Rosé completes the picture.
And with good reason: Grenache Rosé is a limited illustrated edition.
Every year, we ask an artist to illustrate our bottles of Versant Grenache Rosé. In 2024,
A very well-made Grenache rosé!

Aside from its visual appeal, Versant Grenache Rosé is an elegant, refreshing wine, absolutely typical of the terroirs of the Méditérannée and Languedoc regions. Its color is pale, its nose reveals a gourmet palette of aromas, and its palate is rounded and invigoratingly acidic.
The other sides of the range
As mentioned earlier in this article, the “Le Versant” range offers ten different approaches. Systematically made from a single grape variety, it will suit all tastes, and everyone will find their own preference. We mentioned the Versant Pinot Noir and Versant Grenache Rosé above, but there are other grape varieties worth trying on this side of the border.
Versant Merlot is characterized by aromas of black fruit, cherry and blackberry, and a fleshy, spicy mouthfeel; Cabernet Sauvignon has a licorice nose and is fleshy or tannic on the palate; Syrah has a peppery nose and a full, fresh mouthfeel, and so on.
Le Versant can also be enjoyed as a 100% Malbec, Sauvignon, Viognier or Chardonnay, so there’s something for everyone.
To taste it is to adopt it (or maybe even adopt them 😉 ).
