La Redorte is a small French commune in the north of the Aude department, with some 1,200 inhabitants. It is part of the Minervois region, famous for its wine, and is also crossed by the Canal du Midi. It borders a dozen or so communes, including Puichéric, well known to wine lovers from Vignobles Foncalieu. A symbol of French rurality, La Redorte lives to the rhythm of the Canal du Midi and the many waterways that cross its territory. A town of vines and wines, which can be appreciated during a stay at the Resort Vignerone et Spa du Château de la Redorte.

Château de la Redorte: a luxurious setting, wine and spa.
A magnificent 18th-century historic estate nestled in the heart of the Minervois vineyards, Château de la Redorte is a charming showcase of elegant architecture. Its light-colored facade and wooden windows are reminiscent of the bourgeois style of the period. Green parkland surrounds the château, offering visitors a soothing, romantic experience.

La Redorte: between tourism and commerce
If castle life isn’t your cup of tea, take advantage of your visit to La Redorte to spend some time on the banks of the Canal du Midi or at the café de l’église. Stroll along the town wall to the weighbridge where, in the mid-20th century, agricultural produce was weighed. If you’re a sailor by nature, take a trip to “La Fabrique” port and join in the river tourism so popular in La Redorte. Only a few minutes from the Cité de Carcassonne, and less than thirty minutes from the Gouffre de Cabrespine, La Redorte will surprise you with the richness of its landscape and its gentle way of life in the shade of plane trees.
La Cave Coopérative de la Redorte
You’re not a castellan or a sailor? Then what’s there to do in La Redorte? We can’t recommend a visit to the Cave de l’AVENIR. An almost century-old winery located in La Redorte. This is the name given to the La Redorte cooperative winery belonging to Vignobles Foncalieu. Take advantage of your visit to taste the Minervois AOC and AOP wines that are the pride of the commune. 300 winemakers contribute to the winery’s reputation, and 30% are already working organically. La Redorte wines are as expressive as the AOP Minervois. We invite you to discover these sunny, gourmet wines.
Buy La Redorte wines
The La Redorte vineyard is rooted in the Languedoc-Audois region, home to the Minervois region. It produces red, rosé and white wines. The most common grape varieties are Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah for red wines. For white wines, La Redorte’s vineyards are planted with Bourboulenc, Grenache blanc, Maccadeu, Marsanne, Roussanne and Vermentino. The richness of the terroir has given rise to some very fine AOP and AOC Minervois appellations, from small, pleasurable wines to the finest vins de garde. Between Narbonne and Carcassonne, the wines of La Redorte are a loving marriage of olive groves and garrigues, cradled by the Mediterranean climate. Enough to buy a few nuggets without hesitation.
